Fulfilling the Promise Locally The Louisville Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is one of 125 Affiliates working locally to fulfill the promise of a world without breast cancer. With thousands of volunteers and supporters, the Louisville Affiliate raises money to support breast cancer research and to support services provided to residents of the Greater Louisville & Southern Indiana Metropolitan Area.

While 25% of the funds raised by the Louisville Affiliate support breast cancer research, up to 75% of its funds are awarded in Community Grants to programs serving communities in the Greater Louisville & Southern Indiana Metropolitan Area.  Through events like the annual Komen Louisville Race for the Cure and the Pink Tie Ball, the Louisville Affiliate has invested $2,905,490 in Community Grants since 1997.

Through the Community Grants Program, the Louisville Affiliate awards grants to non-profit organizations providing breast cancer screening and treatment as well as breast health education to residents in its eight county service area: Bullitt, Hardin, Jefferson, Shelby, Oldham, and Spencer in Kentucky, and Clark and Floyd in Indiana.

The Community Grants Program seeks to reduce breast cancer mortality, especially among those who are disproportionately affected by this disease.

Grants are for a 1-year funding period, beginning April 1 and ending March 31.
